We 3 took day trip to Medicine Park on 11 June. Tried out my new Nikon P900.
DSCN0054 That is the B&B where we stayed with W&J a few years back. Was all open and trimmed so you had a view off the back porch. Not now. DSCN0052 Can see a bit of the nice porch by telescoping a bit. DSCN0057 Fisherman guy on the bank said this was a "cottonmouth". Not I think. Don't think they are found in western half of Oklahoma. Just another water snake. The flood brought in a bunch of snakes as several were around in the water. All the creek is closed for swimming due to contamination from the flood. Normally very popular swimming spot. DSCN0058 Looking across Medicine Creek to the west. Lots of vacation home or retirement homes in Medicine Park.
DSCN0061 DSCN0062 DSCN0064 Looks like a family here. DSCN0065
DSCN0067 DSCN0069a Anyone know what kind of flowers these are? Grow on vines. DSCN0070 DSCN0071
DSCN0075 DSCN0076 DSCN0080 DSCN0081
DSCN0083 This is a good place to eat in Medicine Park (at least when we tried it with W&J. DSCN0086 Mount Scott in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. DSCN0088 Fishing Pier at Lake Elmer Thomas. Actually on Fort Sill property. DSCN0092 Medicine Park from the top of Mt. Scott. Note the two houses with brown tops in center of town. Next picture is a zoom in on those with the new Nikon. Still about half of the zoom range which is 83x.
DSCN0093 The haze shows up in all my zoomed photos. Was too windy to even use my tripod at about 30 mph. DSCN0094 This place is on the south side near top of the non-zoomed picture. DSCN0095 DSCN0097
DSCN0098 Marina on Lake Ellsworth just east of Mt. Scott. Mild zoom. DSCN0103 Wind generators on the edge of vision from Mt. Scott. DSCN0104 The wind towers are on the horizon. DSCN0107 There are some bit closer towers over the pickup. See next picture.
DSCN0105 A little better shot at about half of the telephoto range. DSCN0110 Meers Store famous for their Longhorn beef hamburgers. We beet the crowd but still had a 45 minute wait after we got menus. There was a line out the door when we left about 1:15pm. Definitely not fast food joint. They were very good burgers and the Meers Burger is 7" diameter. We just got 1/4 lb'ers. The Seismic burger is full pound so can feed several. DSCN0109 Another view of Meers Country Store.
