Catalpa tree blooms at Medicine Park. They were loaded. A bit messy but pretty. Catalpa worms used to strip all leaves in Arkansas. The caterpillars made good fish bait.
This is normally a great swimming place. This may be just to keep swimmers off this part of the walkway. Couldn't find anything on the Web about swimming being banned. Last year there had been a flood that temporarily polluted the water. Anyway this is Virginia, Gale, Anna, and Judy not swimming and not fishing.
Not all the babies are same color.
Looking east from Mount Scott. Marina and Lake Lawtonka in far center.
Looking south is Lake Elmer Thomas. Facilities on south shore are for military at Fort Sill. All land south is on Fort Sill. Can frequently watch artillery rounds explode in the practice area just a bit to the west of the lake.
Playing with the zoom lens on my Nikon P900 camera. It zooms to 83X but loses quality at the max. This was zoomed to 550 mm (35 mm equivalent) which would be about 15X if I am computing correctly.
Lake Lawtonka. You can see the RV park on right side across the lake. That is zoomed area in previous picture.
Buffalo crossing Hwy 49 in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Lots had calves. Probably not a good time to harass them on foot with a camera.
Sunrise at Lake Altus-Lugert. Quartz Mountain State Park, OK
The Resort Lodge at Quartz Mountain SP. We stayed one night. Excellent food at their restaurant (even if a bit pricey).
Gale's 2016 RDX. Has 1720 miles after the trip. Smooth operator.
Walkway from Lodge to their Conference Center. About a year ago the lake was dry under the bridge. Recent rains have really restored the Lake.
Gourd bloom with gourd forming behind the bloom.
Judy, Gale, Anna, Vir
Gale said I had to be in one picture so this is it.
