Butterflies
Dscn0729l Gulf Fritillary (one of the most common in the world with variations) DSCN0806 This one from 2016. Have not seen one this year. Forgot the name. May be a Fritillary in a color variation. Monarch1 Believe this is a Monarch. Dscn1000 Gulf Fritillary again
DSCN0796 Back side of Monarch wings. Pretty on both sides. newbutterfly1 Common Buckeye (only saw on one day. There were two in the at same time). Dscn1066 Believe this is a Painted Lady Dscn1096 Fritillary
Dscn1090 Same Fritillary DSCN0793 Now and then, not a butterfly (Assassin beatle). Not sure this is the biting version (Kissing bug). I did not test it. Those are dangerous and carry Chagas disease. DSCN0812 All butterflies have 4 wings that generally overlap so they appear as 2. Some butterflies change color during the season. Think this is a Fritillary in his bright phase with worn wings. buckeye Short movie of the Buckeye. Had to clip a frame from here because couldn't get him with wings open.
